Brussel Sprout Surprise (the surprise is that you will like them)

Ok I promised you a recipe and here it is.


  • 2 cups Brussel Sprouts- trim bad leaves off and cut in half. The trick is to check the insides for black spots and remove them (this is what makes them bitter)

  • 4 or 5 slices of thick bacon cut in small pieces

  • 2 apples cut into cubes

  • butter is better but olive oil will work to just don't use extra virgin


Steam the brussel sprouts for about 5 minutes, just until tender not mushy.

In a large pan on medium high heat melt the butter and add the sprouts, apples and bacon. You won't need much butter since the bacon will add enough cooking grease.

Cook till the bacon is cooked and the apples and brussel sprouts are browned.


My kids and husband dislike brussel sprouts but they will all eat them if I cook them like this. Enjoy!
